Helpers in the Bible: The Thief on the Cross

Past Sunday Key Verse:
In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of angels of God over one sinner who repents." (Luke 15:10 NIV)

FAMILY ACTIVITY
Ask your child to help you make a list of words that have to do with salvation (such as faith, forgiveness, love, heaven, and joy). Then inflate a balloon and write the words on the balloon with a permanent marker. Throughout the week, try to come up with more words and write them on the balloon as well. Tell your child that all the words on the balloon fill our hearts when we believe in Jesus (just like air fills the balloon). And, even though being a Christian is challenging, God is always there to help us. If your child is not already a believer show him or her what the Bible says about receiving salvation.

PRAYER
Thank You, God, for teaching us that we can speak the truth about Jesus even when it’s hard. Show us how to stand up for our faith and others. Thank You for loving us and sending Jesus to die for our sins. Amen.
