NEW BEGINNINGS - We plan, God guides

Last Sunday Discovery Point:
New Beginnings – We plan, God Guides
Today, your child learned that we make plans and set goals that seem best to us. There are times when our plans turn out as we had hoped and other times when they turn out quite the opposite. While it may be hard to fully understand, we need to realize that the Lord is in control and will at times establish our steps according to His purposes for our lives. (Scriptures used Isaiah 55:8-9.)

Memory Verse:

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” Proverbs 16:9

Suggested Parent/Child Activity:

Read Isaiah 55:8-9. After reading this passage, discuss why God’s ways and thoughts are better than ours. Read Proverbs 16:9 and Proverbs 19:21. Discuss why is it important to plan and set goals. We are to use our wisdom and discernment when planning anything from small to big. As we plan, God’s purpose for us will prevail and guide us. Sometimes our plans change for the good or get adjusted causing a different outcome that we couldn’t have planned better even if we tried. creatures in Christ living our lives in such a way as to best represent Him to the world.

Daily Prayer:

Dear Lord, as I make plans for my life, please guide my steps. Show me how to trust You with the situations that our out of my control. Amen.
