Justification - God's Faithfulness Matters

Last Sunday Discovery Point:
Justification - God's Faithfulness Matters
Today’s lesson was the second in a series about God’s justification in our lives (how He perfects us to be more like Him). When we become believers, there should be a continual change in our desires, thoughts, and actions toward the things of God as He justifies us. However, sometimes people misinterpret God’s perfect faithfulness and think it’s okay to still sin since He can make good come from it. Today we learned how human reasoning and judgments can keep us from truly understanding God’s purposes as He seeks to make us more like Him, and it’s never right to sin. Everyone is a sinner, so we all have the opportunity to receive salvation and allow God’s justification to change our hearts and minds. And that’s why His faithfulness matters! (Scriptures used: Romans 3:1-9)

Memory Verse:

"He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He.” Deuteronomy 32:4 NIV

Suggested Parent/Child Activity:

Go for a nature walk and talk about God’s faithfulness and the things it provides in our
lives, such as reliability and stability. Ask your child to name something in nature that is
reliable (e.g. a sunrise, gravity, the seasons, etc.). Emphasize that God gives us a picture
of his faithfulness through His creation, so we can learn to trust Him. And because He
never breaks His promises, we know that even when we sin He is looking out for our best
interests.

Daily Prayer:

Thank You, God, for justifying and teaching us! Show us how to turn from sin and look to You for guidance. And help us remember that You are always faithful. Thank You for Jesus’ example and for His sacrifice. Amen.
