Holy Spirit - Pentecost
Last Sunday Discovery Point:
Holy Spirit - Pentecost
The disciples were the beginning of the early Church, and as they were gathered together
one day something amazing happened: Jesus’ promise to send a helper came true at
Pentecost! While some people mistakenly thought the disciples were drunk, most people
recognized that Holy Spirit was an amazing gift. The Holy Spirit fills us with joy of the
Lord’s presence and guides us to live obediently. (Scriptures used: Acts 2:1-28)
Memory Verse:
“You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.” Acts 2:28 NIV
Suggested Parent/Child Activity:
While playing outside, blow some bubbles together. Point out the different sizes of the
bubbles and how they are guided by the air or wind. Compare this experience to the
guidance of the Holy Spirit: even when we feel we have little faith (represented by the little
bubbles), the Spirit is our guide. Similarly, no faith is too big for the Spirit. Encourage your
child to trust and obey the Spirit’s guidance as they mature in their faith.
