I Wanna Be Just Like Jesus – Showing God's Love

Last Sunday Discovery Point:  I Wanna Be Just Like Jesus – Showing God's Loves The children are learing how they can be just like Jesus. Today's lesson was about how God loves them and how Jesus showed love while He was on earth. The children learned how important it is to show their love for God and how they can show Godly love to others. (Scripture used: 1 John 3:16, 4:7-12, 1 Corinithians 13:4-8a)

Memory Verse: "Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 5:1-2 NIV

Suggested Parent/Child Activity: Choose one or two family members or friends that you don't see very often. Perhaps persons who no longer live close by. Purchase greeting cards, or have your child make some of their own. Then have your child write words of encouragement, or kind words of love inside, and mail the cards this week.

I Wanna Be Just Like Jesus - Depending on Jesus

Last Sunday Discovery Point:  I Wanna Be Just Like Jesus – Depending on Jesus The children are learing how they can be just like Jesus. Today's lesson was designed to help them understand how they must depend on God in the same way Jesus depended on His father in Heaven. (Scripture used: John 15:1-8)

Memory Verse: "Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 5:1-2 NIV

Suggested Parent/Child Activity: Take a walk in the park, or in a nearby botanical garden. If possible, find a place to get close to a grape vine. Discuss how the grapes depend on the vine for nurishment, and how the branches that bear the fruit must be attached to the vine. Finish by having a glass of fresh grape juice.

Daily Prayer: Dear Lord, I can do nothing without You. You gave me life, and everything around me. Help me lord to remain in You, as a child …

I Wanna Be Just Like Jesus - A Humble Servant

Last Sunday Discovery Point:  I Wanna Be Just Like Jesus – A Humble Servant For the next few weeks, the children will be learning how they can be just like Jesus. Today's lesson was about being humble, just like Jesus was humble when he washed his disciples’ feet. (Scripture used: John 13:1-17)

Memory Verse: "Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 5:1-2 NIV

Suggested Parent/Child Activity: The opposite of being humble is pride and being boastful. Being selfish is also not being humble. This week, help your child understand the meaning of being humble. As you watch television, go shopping, etc. play a game to see how many times each of you can point out someone who is being humble, or the opposite of being humble.

Daily Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to be just like Jesus. When something good happens to me, let me not become bo…
