I Wanna Be Just Like Jesus - A Living Sacrifice
Last Sunday Discovery Point:
I
Wanna Be Just Like Jesus – A Living Sacrifice
Today's lesson the children learned
that to be just like Jesus, they must give their whole self to God and become a
pleasing offering to Him. As Jesus sacrificed His life for our sins, so that we
may have everlasting life, we must also become "Living Sacrifices",
holy and pleasing to God. (Scripture used: Romans 12:1-21)
Memory Verse:
"Follow God's example,
therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ
loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to
God." Ephesians 5:1-2 NIV
Suggested Parent/Child Activity:
This week, find a program in your
church or neighborhood where you and your child can pitch in to help others in
need, even if only for a few hours. Perhaps serving food to the needy, washing
dishes, collecting clothes, etc. When finished, discuss with your child the
blessings that were felt by serving others without expecting anything in
return.
Daily Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to be just like
Jesus. I truly want to be a humble servant, just like Jesus. I truly want to
live my life depending on You for everything, so I can show love to others,
just like Jesus. And Lord, I truly want to offer myself as a living sacrifice,
holy and pleasing to You, just like Jesus. Amen
