How Many Lights?! Challenge **ENDED**

**Challenge has ended**
Hello Parents!
During the Kidz Online hangout on Saturday May 23, Amy gave the kids a virtual tour of the empty church and had some fun with them!  She challenged the kids to count the number of lights on the sanctuary ceiling, and whoever gets the correct number will be awarded bubble tea from CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice for the family! (1 drink per 2 family members)
Here is a [better] video recording that the kids can use to count the lights on the sanctuary ceiling at CCAC: (also available for download here)
Since no one counted the correct number of lights the first time, the challenge is extended for another week.  Kids have a second chance to submit their guess to Amy at the Kidz Online Zoom meeting this Saturday June 06.
The prize will be awarded (delivered) on Sunday June 07 in the afternoon!
Have fun and thank you for participating!!!  :)

May Children Worship: John The Baptist – The Birth of John the Baptist

Discovery Point:  John the Baptist - The Birth of John the Baptist Today, the children learned about the miracles and events surrounding the birth of John the Baptist and his mission to prepare the way for Jesus. This lesson also helped the children understand that even before they were born, God gave them a purpose in life.

Scripture used: Luke 1:11-25, 57-66

Memory Verse: "And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him." Luke 1:76 NIV

Practice this verse several times with your child during the week. This will help him or her remember the verse and it will also help to reinforce what he or she learned during class.

Suggested Parent/Child Activity: Look up the following scriptures with your child:
Luke 1:76 - Prophet of the Most High Luke 3:4 or Matthew 3:3 - A voice in the desert Matthew 17:11-13 and Luke 1:17 - Spirit and power of Elijah Malachi 3:1 - Messenger John 1:8 - A witness to the Ligh…

Fun Resources for Families!

Hello Families!

Here are some resources you can try using at home.  When I find any interesting or helpful resource on the internet, I will upload them here for you.
Family Prayer List
Prayer time with your family is an important part of your daily walk together with the Lord.  This Family Prayer List is designed for you to use during your family prayer time.  Just download this resource, print as many copies as you need, write down your family’s prayers and praises, then pray together.  Hang this list on your fridge so that your family members can see it during the week, so they can add to it, and so they can continue to pray each day.  Remember to pray daily together with your family!

Sermon Notes for Kids
Whether the time has come for your child to join you for [online] worship, or you’re attending special services where there won’t be a kids program, you may be at a loss as to how to keep your student engaged in this grown-up setting.  This notes activity sheet is less of the open-end…

Kidz Club - May Lesson

Lesson materials are from [The Gospel Project for Kids - Worship Hour]

Dear Parents:
The Book of Luke records just two narratives about Jesus’ childhood: His dedication (Luke 2:21-40) and His time at the temple when He was 12 years old (Luke 2:41-52). Both stories set the stage for Jesus’ ministry on earth as an adult.
Mary and Joseph were faithful Jews. They had dedicated the baby Jesus according to the law of Moses, and they traveled to Jerusalem each year to celebrate Passover. God had commanded the men to appear before Him three times a year to observe certain festivals. (See Deut. 16:16.) Once a year, those who followed God’s law would travel to Jerusalem—often in large groups—to celebrate Passover.
In Bible times, a Jewish boy became a man at 13. His father would train him to take on all the responsibilities of adulthood, social and spiritual. Joseph was a carpenter, and he likely trained Jesus in his trade. When Mary and Joseph went to Jerusalem, Joseph might have taken Jesus ar…
