August Children Worship: Hannah - God Answers Prayers

Discovery Point: Hannah - God Answers PrayersIn today's lesson, your child learned about Hannah and her desire to have a child. Your child also learned that God typically answers the prayers of our hearts in one of three ways: yes, no, or wait. And that no matter the answer, we should praise God because He loves us and knows what is best for us. (Scripture used: 1 Samuel 1:1-20)
Memory Verse:
"I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer." Psalm 17:6 NIV Read this verse each night this week with your child. Use the acronym "JOY" (Jesus first, others second, yourself last) to help your child put his or her prayers in the proper perspective.
Suggested Parent/Child Activity: Begin keeping a family prayer journal, recording the prayer requests of individual family members.
