Thanksgiving Series – Hannah was thankful
This Sunday Discovery Point:
Today we learned about a woman
named Hannah and why she was thankful. Hannah is an example of showing
thankfulness to God through tremendous sacrifice - she dedicated her only son
to serve Him! That must have been very hard for her. However, Hannah was still
thankful because she knew she would have remained childless without God’s
intervention. She humbly understood that everything belonged to God, even her
only child. And, because of her thankful sacrifice, God greatly used her son,
Samuel, as a spiritual leader for His people. (Scriptures used: 1 Samuel
1:10-11, 20, 24-28, 2:1-2)
Write the verse on a piece of paper
and read it to your child. Then take turns “cheering” one phrase at a time to
praise and show thankfulness to God. Options for cheering include clapping,
stomping, or dancing. Then repeat the verse by switching phrases. Repeat this
activity several times this week to continue memorizing the verse.
